My mom passed away November 10, 2010. It's now over 1 year since my mom
passed away. I know things could have gotten better. I don't think
that everything that could have been done was done. To doctors we are all
products. If they can make money from us they do. If we are a hassle
to them then we get only the minimum amount of care. I'm even worried
about saying this here because to me the healthcare system, in my opinion, is
run by people who act like like mafia family members. I am worried that by
speaking my mind I will be put on a list somewhere so that I will be treated
differently, in a bad way.
I have been told that doctors, nurses and other people that work in the
healthcare field like to get feedback and that they really do want to make
changes.
Why do some people die and others live?
My advice to everyone is to eat well and exercise at least 20 minutes per
day. You should be able to avoid a lot of future problems. Don't
look for a quick fix. The best exercise is the slow but sure
stuff.
Do some situps and some pushups. Walk as much as you can handle.
Ride a bike. Weight training is amazing in general fitness. You
don't need to become an Arnold. There are a lot of great books that show
you how to exercise properly; use them.
Tell me what you think.
If I haven't mentioned it yet.....I believe my mother died because she wasn't
given the care I think she needed at Sunnybrook Hospital. She had water in
her lungs and hadn't slept for over a month near the end.
I had told the doctor this but was told that it's normal for people with
cancer to have breathing and sleeping problems.
Dr. Gien only arranged for an x-ray for my mother after I insisted.
When the x-ray appointment came up my mother was already at Scarborough General
Hospital suffering.
Many people, medical professionals and others, told me that my mother had
water in her lungs for some time and should have had it drained much
earlier. They even said that antibiotics might have helped. These
same people believed that my mother would still be with us today if she had not
been neglected earlier.
I don't want to explore this further here but I am open to discussing this
with anyone who cares.
I don't feel that you can have a real conversation with the medical staff at
hospitals because they are biased and will never admit their fault. There
should be a way to make them admit their fault and assure them that they will
not be sued or lose their licences.
I could use a laugh. Maybe I should
make a website about comedy. Oh yeah I did. Enjoy.
Click on a category or click on the picture of your favorite show or got to
the mall map for a list of most of the shows and celebrities I am writing about.
I would like to dedicate this website to my mother. She never let
anyone see her being sad. She loved to laugh and enjoyed watching
people laugh.
In my opinion I think chemotherapy kills more people than it saves.
